Appointed on January 17 as advisor to the president of the Senegalese Basketball Federation, Mr. Babacar Ndiaye, the former national technical director, Maguette Diop, has just given up this position. In a correspondence addressed to the head of the federal body, the former DTN denounces a lack of respect towards him. “I learned through the media of my appointment to you as advisor without any prior consultation to obtain my opinion,” wrote “Father Max”. Before continuing: “Subsequently, after speaking with you on the telephone, I wanted to meet you to discuss this appointment. Which remained unanswered.”
An approach that the former DTN describes as “a lack of consideration” towards him. “In any case, I renounce this appointment as advisor by sending you this correspondence,” finally wrote Dean Maguette Diop. An outing, unfortunately, which will certainly not fail to get people talking about the orange ball.
Beyond this position, it should be remembered that the Senegalese Basketball Federation had announced the appointment of the former Technical Director and former coach of the Lionesses, Moustapha Gaye, at the head of the new “High Performance Commission”.
