The CF Montreal played its first preparatory match on Friday at the start of the training camp and lost 1-0 against Cincinnati.
Andrei Chirila, who is only 16, scored the only goal of the meeting in the 56th minute of play. On the corner, Mbomba Dem presented to the center and Chirila redirected the shot to the second post.
Cincy went close to adding another goal in the 86th minute, but Monsuru Opeyemi missed the target. Kévin Denkey, a new acquisition of the club at the end of November, also created good opportunities.
Montreal obtained his first good luck to score in the 13th minute when midfielder Opt tried to escape, but the Roman goalkeeper Celentano came out of his net to intercept the ball in his race. The CFM then revamped its workforce in the second half by sending Sébastian Breza, Luca Petrasso, Fernando Álvarez, Alessandro Biello, Tom Pearce, Fabian Herbers, Ousman Jabang, Dawid Bugaj, Michael Adodokun, Bryce Duke and Owen Graham-Roache.
After this duel, Montrealers will return home to undertake the second portion of their training camp at the Marie-Victorin sports complex, from January 26 to February 4.
