Since the departure of Vincent Kompany this summer, the Belgians and Burnley are not doing very well. Ameen Al-Dakhil, Anass Zaroury and Samuel Bastien have left, while those who remained hardly play.
Youngster Enock Agyei has made a few appearances as a substitute, but players like Manuel Benson and Mike Trésor have completely fallen off the radar in recent months. Hannes Delcroix did not feature in Scott Parker’s (ex-Bruges) plans either.
The 25-year-old defender therefore began looking for a new club and was offered to several clubs such as Standard, FC Metz and Oxford United.
Delcroix loaned to Swansea
But ultimately, the former Anderlecht player will finish the season in England. Indeed, he was loaned until the end of the season to Swansea. The Welsh club currently occupies fifteenth place in the Championship.
-“We are very happy to have an additional option on defense with Hannes,” said coach Luke Williams. “His versatility and experience are of great value. He has played at the highest level and has international experience. We hope he can quickly add value to us.”
He hasn’t played a single minute this season.
Delcroix will, however, need a little time to regain his best level. In fact, he has not played a single game this season due to a malleolus injury.
