Makane Mbengue not in favor of organizing wrestling matches at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio. In an interview with Source A , Gaston Mbengue’s son indicated that he does not plan to organize a fight at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium.

“I will limit myself to the National Arena. You saw how nice the Arena was, but people tore out the chairs after every fight. And you noticed that since then, there are no more chairs at the National Arena, there are no more problems. So, I think Stade Abdoulaye Wade is intended for football. We can’t bring people there and then find ourselves tearing up the chairs…” he suggested.

After the exit of Aziz Ndiaye, expressing his desire to organize the fight between Balla Gaye 2 and Siteu at the Abdoulaye Wade stadium in Diamniadio, Dame Mbodji wasted no time in responding to him. The general director of SOGIP had simply rejected the request from the wrestling promoter.

He said the stadium would not be rented out for wrestling events, citing previous incidents, including those involving Jaraaf, which led to matches being held behind closed doors due to damage. He had also expressed concerns about the costly maintenance and fragility of the stadium’s facilities, including its hybrid pitch and glass structures. He insisted that responsibility for any damage would fall on those organizing wrestling events, which is unacceptable to him.
