The Standard coach has lost his voice. Absent from the Rouches press conference this Friday, Ivan Leko will try to recover to be present on the bench during the Dender reception on Sunday.
Surprise during the Standard press conference this Friday. Aphone, Ivan Leko was not present, and was replaced by his assistant coach, José Jeunechamps.
The latter first confirmed one thing: the probable absences of Matthieu Epolo and Aiden O’Neill to receive Dender this Sunday. The two men returned to training this week, but are not yet ready.
Standard without Epolo, O’Neill… and Leko?
Absences which are added to those of Boli Bolingoli, David Bates, Nathan Ngoy and Alexandro Calut. It is therefore under the same conditions as these last two weeks that the Rouches will try to reach 9/9. Until then, Ivan Leko will try to recover in order to be present on the bench, which is not yet certain.
-“We are on the right track, but our focus is only on the next match. The championship is very close, two victories or two defeats can change a lot of things,” commented José Jeunechamps.
As the Croatian had already mentioned after the success in Sint-Truiden, it is a real six-point match that awaits the Rouches. A victory could propel the Sclessin residents into the top 6, while a defeat could put an end to their hopes of Champions Play-Offs.
