Clint Capela missed his first game of the NBA season Thursday night. Hit in the right knee, the Genevan pivot from Atlanta was spared in a match lost 122-119 by the Hawks against Toronto.

This injury comes at the worst time for Capela, who this week lost his place in Atlanta’s starting five to a constantly improving Onyeka Okongwu. For the record, the Meyrinois will be at the end of his contract with the Hawks at the end of the season.

In his absence, Okongwu compiled 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists against Toronto. However, the “buzzer” missed a 3-point shot that would have allowed the Hawks, beaten for the third time in a row, to snatch an overtime period.

Kyshawn George’s Wizards suffered their 12th consecutive defeat on Thursday, against the Los Angeles Clippers (110-93). The Valais “rookie” scored 5 points and made 3 interceptions in 24 minutes of play.
