After six difficult months with Olympique de Marseille, Elye Wahi is getting closer to a departure. Earlier today, Fabrizio Romano claimed that Eintracht Frankfurt had made an offer worth 25 million euros. Negotiations are continuing and the center forward could well join the Bundesliga in the coming days in order to regain playing time. For its part, the Marseille management has made a huge decision regarding the replacement of the former Sang-et -Gold.
No replacement for Elye Wahi?
To replace Elye Wahi, the Olympique de Marseille board checked three names in its shortlist. First there is Santiago Gimenez. The Feyenoord striker scored a magnificent double against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. However, the price demanded by the Batavians is 35 million and is far too high for OM who could see themselves overtaken by AC Milan in the file.
As a result, the Marseille board also launched an attack for Brian Bobbey. Struggling for Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch international is a prime target, but still risky for the Marseille city. It therefore seems unlikely to see him land on the Canebière. The last player targeted by the OM recruitment unit is none other than Evann Guessand. But the Aiglon file was quickly put aside, at least for this winter, RMC Sport tells us due to the complexity of the file. Thus, it is difficult to envisage a replacement for Elye Wahi arriving in January. In addition, Neal Maupay or even Robinio Vaz have seduced Roberto De Zerbi and should do the trick until the end of the season.
