Miami star Jimmy Butler was once again suspended by his NBA franchise on Wednesday, this time for two games because of a missed plane, amid tension around the player’s possible departure. Butler was already suspended seven games by the Heat earlier this month due to statements he made about wanting to leave the team.
“We have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games for repeated violations of internal rules, insubordinate conduct and detrimental to the team, including missing today’s flight to Milwaukee”wrote the Heat in a press release.
The 35-year-old American, in his 15th NBA year (17 points average), led the Heat to two lost finals in 2020 and 2023.
-His situation and his very probable departure have been driving the NBA transfer market for several weeks, while several teams would like to attract the power forward to strengthen themselves in the title race.
Miami visits the Bucks on Thursday then faces Brooklyn on Saturday.
