Ahmed Réda Tagnaouti, the former Wydad Casablanca goalkeeper, confirmed having received an official offer from Raja Casablanca to replace Anas Zniti who joined the Al Wasl club in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement to Assabah, the goalkeeper said he was ready to join the Greens during this winter transfer window and expressed his pride following this proposal. “I was in fact contacted by a leader of Raja. I will be happy to play under the colors of this historic club and I hope that the negotiations will be successful. Any Moroccan player would be honored to defend the colors of Wydad and Raja,” assured Tagnaouti.
And added: “I maintain good relations with all the components of the RCA. Mentally, I am ready to take on this challenge. I admire the Raja audience and I have a lot of respect for them. Having defended the colors of Wydad before does not prevent me from wearing the Greens jersey today.
Note that Réda Tagnaouti is currently without a club after the termination of his contract with MAS.
Let us also remember that Anas Zniti signed with the Emirati club Al-Wasl from Raja Casablanca. Zniti will defend the colors of Al-Wasl during its international participations, such as the 2024-2025 Asian Champions League.
After starting his career in the Maghreb in Fez, Zniti (36 years old) joined AS FAR then Raja de Casablanca. During his career, he won several titles with MAS, including the Trone Cup, the CAF Cup and the African Super Cup.
-Alongside Raja Casablanca, he won the national championship twice, three Throne Cups, a UNAF Cup, an Arab Cup, two CAF Cups and an African Super Cup.
Under the Atlas Lions jersey, Zniti also won the African Nations Championship (CHAN) for local players twice.
