Strongly criticized for replacing El Khannouss, Van Nisterlrooy defends himself

Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has faced heavy criticism from fans after he decided to replace Bilal El Khannouss in the match against Fulham last Saturday. This meeting, counting for the Premier League, ended in a defeat for the Foxes with a score of 2-0.

Leicester fans deemed the replacement of El Khannous a mistake, considering him one of the team’s best players during the match. They expressed their dissatisfaction by criticizing the Dutch coach, calling him “disoriented”.

Faced with criticism, Van Nistelrooy defended himself, responding to the BBC: “I don’t have to justify every change I make just because the fans don’t like it. It would be unfair to other players. We fell short in this match, and we deserved to lose. When I make a decision that I don’t like, I take full responsibility.”he added.

Although Leicester City currently sits 19th in the Premier League table, Bilal El Khannouss remains the undisputed star of the team and one of the players most loved by fans at the King Power Stadium.
