Alexis Monney is in great shape. The Fribourgeois driver dominated the first training session of the Kitzbühel descent, notably achieving the best times in the Traverse sector and the one preceding it. The skier from Châtel-Saint-Denis, who greatly appreciates the legendary Streif slope, finished ahead of the Austrian Stefan Babinsky (+0 »15) and the Canadian Cameron Alexander (0 »40). who missed a door. This promises before the descent on Saturday.

During this first timed test, Franjo von Allmen (11th) and Marco Odermatt (12th) did not exert their talent and were more than a second behind Alexis Monney. If we except Stefan Rogentin (22nd), all the other Swiss downhillers rank outside the top 30. Arnaud Boisset took 43rd place, while Justin Murisier ranks 50th.

Alessio Miggiano, Gaël Zulauf and Gaël Torrent, entered this Tuesday during the Reiteralm European Cup super-G, obviously did not take part in this first training session. They will, however, be present on Wednesday on the Streif for the second test gallop. As a reminder, the three men, including the two from French-speaking Switzerland, are in competition with Arnaud Boisset for the two Swiss tickets still available for Saturday’s descent.
