The new home and away jerseys of the Moroccan football team have found their place at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht (Netherlands), as part of the MOḌA exhibition, which runs from October 3, 2024 to March 2, 2025 in highlighting Moroccan fashion, from international designers to local talents. These models are the first to be designed by a person of Moroccan origin, Abderrahmane Trabsini, co-founder of the Daily Paper brand.

The fashion designer will be at the Centraal Museum on February 16, to discuss the design process of these swimsuits. RTV Utrecht recalls that Trabsini was notably the architect of the outfits for Beyoncé’s concerts at the Johan Cruijff Arena in 2023.

Curator of the MOḌA exhibition, Zineb Seghrouchni, explains that jerseys are included in the exhibits, because they transcend their sporting function, to become elements of clothing.

Fashion curator at the museum, Ninke Bloemberg connects the presence of the jerseys on the museum walls to Morocco’s historic performance in the 2022 World Cup, citing the pride and energy that moment generated. Additionally, the Netherlands is known for hosting a large Moroccan diaspora.

In addition to these items, the exhibition presents works by fashion houses such as BENCHELLAL, Maison Sara Chraïbi, Merrachi and New Tangier. Through fashion, the objective is to trace personal stories at the crossroads of cultures, mixing the works of creators from Morocco and those from the diaspora in the same spaces.
