Stado: the departure to Valence-Romans, a thoughtful choice for Romain Terrain

Romain Terrain, the forwards coach, reacted to the announcement of his departure for -Romans at the end of the season.

What motivated your choice to join Valence-Romans?

It was a difficult choice and I thought a lot about it because Tarbes was the team that allowed me to coach at the professional level and that opened my eyes to the fact that I wanted to make this my profession. . With this choice I show everyone that I want to go this route. Here I was in comfort, I was at home but I made the choice to get out of my comfort zone, to challenge myself. It’s also an opportunity to coach at a higher level if Valencia remains in Pro D2. As a player, I try to go as high as possible. As Lionel Terré said, it’s the logical progression of things. Especially since there I will meet Fabien Fortassin whom I knew here in Tarbes.

What do you think of the timing of this announcement knowing that the championship is still long and that Stado is fighting to maintain its position?

I don't know if there's a right or wrong time to announce this. What was important to me was above all to announce it as soon as possible to Lionel Terré, my president, who is also a childhood friend. I also wanted to warn the players in advance. I was quite direct and brief on the subject because there is still a lot of work left this season. Early in the end I don't think so because it allows the club to start a new cycle and for the players to know the ins and outs. So I think it's good that everyone is aware now as it gives everyone time to turn around.
