Yoann Richomme (2nd in the Vendée Globe, on the L’Équipe channel) : “The project takes a lot of time to set up because the boat needs to be studied, designed and built. Basically, we had organized the project before the Vendée Globe to already have the construction slot and the architect to be able to launch it. There, we are ready to launch studies for a boat for the 2028 edition. Today, if we design a boat, it will begin construction in September. There will be 15 months of construction. There are then two years of optimization and fine-tuning. The right decisions for 2028 are therefore being made now.
