Mercato: Albert Gronbaek very close to joining Southampton?
According to L'Equipe, who arrived this summer, Albert Gronbaek could soon join Southampton.
Placed in the Rennes loft at the end of the week, Albert Gronbaek will therefore have played his last match with Rennes against Troyes, during the shameful elimination in the Coupe de France. With 18 matches for 2 goals and an assist, the Dane, first player recruited by Frederic Massara, will leave the club, and L'Equipe reveals that it would be for Southampton.
At 23, Gronbaek could bounce back to the bottom of the Premier League, an agreement in principle having been reached between all parties, reports the sports daily. On July 15, the midfielder arrived for 15 million euros. Among the Saints, he would find former Rennais Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Lesley Ugochukwu (on loan from Chelsea).
