The Real Madrid board of directors has validated the candidacy of Florentino Pérez for his re-election as club president. If nothing changes between now and then, the businessman will shine for another term.
The deadline for submitting your application to the residence of the Madrid club has been open since January 7 and ends this Saturday at 11:59 p.m. and, with the exception of the candidacy of the current president presented this afternoon, there is no no other candidate. It is not expected that there will be any, which means that next Monday the president of Real Madrid will be re-elected for four more years.
Florentino Pérez being at this time the only candidacy presented to the competent bodies of the club, everything indicates that he will be re-elected again as president of Real Madrid without the members having to go through the ballot box.
This direct re-election without opponent had already occurred during the four previous elections, in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2021. As a reminder, in order to be able to stand in the presidential elections of Real Madrid, it is necessary to fulfill certain conditions, beyond the fact to want to rub shoulders with Florentino.
Prerequisites to apply
1 Being Spanish.
2 Be of legal age and have full capacity to act.

4 Be a member of the club with at least twenty years of uninterrupted seniority in the case of the president, fifteen years in the case of vice-presidents and ten years in all other cases.
5 Not having been the subject of a sanction prohibiting the exercise of executive functions.
6 Do not hold management positions in other football clubs, nor be active as a player, referee, coach or technician of these clubs at the time of submitting your application.
7 Provide a guarantee of 15% of the club’s overhead budget.
