The expert’s opinion: the replacement at Praet is going well for Yari

A few years ago, many would have hoped to see Yari Verschaeren take a similar trajectory to that of Dennis Praet. The 2015 Golden Shoe, assembled during the break in the colors of Antwerp for his return to Lotto Park, won three titles before flying to Sampdoria for €8 million, at the age of 22.

Verschaeren celebrated his 23rd birthday last July and has not yet taken off or won any title. The Turkish press sent him to Trabzonspor while more and more voices were raised in Belgium, arguing that a new challenge would allow him to relaunch a career which had taken a turn for the worse recently.
