NHL: The Blackhawks could sacrifice Seth Jones

In their reconstruction process, we will have to keep an eye on the management of the Chicago Blackhawks between now and the NHL trade deadline.

If it is certain that the name of veteran Taylor Hall is very often mentioned in rumors, that of defender Seth Jones is surprising.

According to the journalist Darren Dreger the TSNJones’ name isn’t consistently in discussions, but he believes general manager Kyle Davidson might be tempted to test the market to see what he could get for the 30-year-old American.

Dreger adds that Jones’ contract risks making a transaction involving him difficult and that teams interested in his services will have to be creative since his contract is in effect until 2029-2030 at an annual salary of 9.5 million and that the full-back holds a no-movement clause.

But Dreger says NHL teams are inquiring about the availability of Jones, who was Nashville’s first pick in 2013, fourth overall. The veteran has played 825 career games in the NHL so far. He scored 93 goals and 327 assists with the Predators, Columbus Blue Jackets and Hawks.
