It is now official: Arles will be the scene of the grand arrival of the Tour de La Provence 2025. Former champion Thomas Voeckler, spokesperson for the event, announced it this Tuesday, January 14 in Aix-en-Provence during the presentation of the complete route of this stage cycling race which will start from Marseille on February 14 and arrive two days later on the Boulevard des Lices. Made up of 112 professional runners from 16 international teams, the CIC Tour de la Provence peloton will cover more than 120 kilometers in the town of Arles. “We had a magnificent finale last year with runners hurtling into town at 70km/hrecalled Thomas Voekler. This year again the race promises to be thrilling.”
“Arles is delighted to host this fantastic race, which will offer spectators and television viewers the extremely varied landscapes of the town, from Crau to the Camargue via its historic center” welcomed the mayor of Arles Patrick de Carolis. On February 16, the peloton will leave at 12:10 p.m. from Rognac and arrive in Arles via the road to Avignon then the Rocade. He will take Boulevard des Lices for the first time around 2 p.m. before a return trip to Sambuc via Triquetaille. The runners will then pass through Barriol to reach Mas-Thibert. They will return to Arles via Moulès, where a sprint will take place, Raphèle and Pont-de-Crau.
Beyond the race, Arles will make this event a great celebration. From 1 p.m., numerous activities will be offered around the Charles-de-Gaulle esplanade: “Taco and Co” bicycle taxi race and young cyclists from Arlesian clubs, giant games, food trucks, bicycle repair workshop, broadcast of racing on a giant screen, eco-friendly carousel, traditional group, unusual bicycle stand, “home-trainer” racing simulator, smoothie bike, pedal go-karts… The point The highlight of this exceptional day will be the final sprint of the last stage of the Tour de La Provence, scheduled for around 5 p.m. on Boulevard des Lices.
