Anderlecht had a very gloomy Sunday. In addition to the 0-3 defeat against Club Bruges, the Mauves feared the worst for Francis Amuzu.
By hitting Joel Ordonez head-on, Francis Amuzu caused quite a scare throughout Lotto Park. The shock left him on the mat for the entire half, the rest was even extended to allow the rescuers to evacuate him while being sure that the situation was under control.
Those few minutes without any sign of movement were particularly worrying. After the meeting, however, David Hubert was reassuring with a big concussion as a first estimate.
Amuzu must recover
But Anderlecht’s press release regarding its player was still expected. It fell late in the afternoon.
“Francis Have fun has left the hospital and will recover at home from the concussion suffered during yesterday’s match. Our medical team will closely monitor his recovery,” we read.
His release from hospital is therefore the first news likely to reassure everyone. If Amuzu will probably have to observe a period of rest before returning to competition, the worst seems to have been avoided.
