A man based in Vendée was indicted on Friday January 10 for rape, sexual assault and corruption of a minor. Aged 36, he is suspected of having raped his stepdaughter between the ages of 11 and 14. The facts would have taken place between 2020 and 2023, reports West France. An initial investigation was opened but it was closed without further action.
He denies the facts
The accused, who denies the facts, was placed in pre-trial detention during the judicial investigation. “There are serious and consistent indications of your participation in the facts”declared the liberty and detention judge of La Roche-sur-Yon. If convicted, he faces a sentence of 20 years in prison.
According to the deputy prosecutor, the facts were “perpetrated while two other children were in the room”. They only stopped because the victim, the daughter of his ex-partner, denounced the thirty-year-old.
