Morancez. Gérard Besnard spoke of the numerous projects for his commune. The Chavannes room was packed, Thursday evening, for the traditional greeting ceremony of Gérard Besnard, mayor of Morancez, surrounded by his municipal team.
The chief magistrate recalled the significant events of the past year, notably the road works on Rue du Center and Rue de la Croix.
Gérard Besnard then discussed the projects for 2025 with the energy renovation of the Eugène-Delacroix school group. The work, estimated at 2 million euros, includes ceiling insulation, renovation of doors and windows, installation of LED lighting, double-flow VMC and geothermal heating.
Painting work on the premises is also being carried out as well as new asphalt in the school courtyard.
In order to promote the development of the community’s children, the municipality will set up a new modern play area in the Chavannes area, next to the City stadium, and at Square des Ardrets.
The Morancean village spirit also includes sports projects with that of a sports complex. “We will hear back from the programmer during the month. This will allow us to launch consultations for the choice of the group of manufacturers. »
Club-house
An ambitious project for the municipality, delivery of which is scheduled for the end of 2026.
This year, the municipality has also planned the construction of a clubhouse for the pétanque and tennis associations as well as the installation of a camper van park on the former campsite of the leisure center.
Concerned about preserving the environment, the municipal team has notably planned the flowering of the town entrances and, secondly, the greening of the cemetery paths. “Protecting our environment also involves applying new national and European regulations. »
To close this ceremony of wishes, the councilor expressed the wish to see the installation, this year, of a baker in the commune. “A wish that I had already expressed in 2024. And here I am still in trouble. »

Gérard Besnard underlines an increase in the population in Morancez contrary to the department’s average. A town which today has nearly 2,000 inhabitants. “This is why we are going to build a new housing estate in 2025-2026. » A project led by Chartres Aménagement which will include twelve rental houses, ten senior homes and around forty building plots.
