For their first match of 2025, the Cadurcians conceded their third defeat of the season in their Federal 2 championship. After Lormont and , the “Ciel et Blanc” lost this Sunday on the Belvès field.
A solid leader at the break, the Lotois knew they were being awaited by a Dordogne team which was fighting to maintain its position and which had to collect valuable points.
If the players of coaches Vincent Debaye and Fabrice Vignals traveled to Belvès with the desire to start the year with a success, they expected “a difficult match. We are the leader and everyone wants to hang on to the leader,” recalled Vincent Debaye this week.
The first minutes of this meeting also confirmed this.
Playing their luck bravely, the Belvesois dominated the start of the match and took the lead on a penalty from Baille in the 18th minute. Facing a Cadurcian team which was struggling to put its game in place, the Dordognots widened the gap on the scoreboard with a power try scored five minutes from half-time following a penalty.

Defensive bonus point for Cahors

Trailing 10 to 0, the “Ciel et Blanc” were therefore forced to chase the score. The Lotois got their hands on the ball and reduced the score just before the break with a penalty from Aboumejd Le Berre.
Building on their good end to the first period, the Cadurcians attacked the second half well by playing in the home half and continued to chip away at their deficit following a new penalty from Aboumejd Le Berre.
Back at 10 to 6, the “Ciel et Blanc” then had a big highlight during which they camped in the opposing ten meters but despite several opportunities to score, the Lotois, who took the upper hand at this moment of the match, had to settle for three new points.
With a score of 10 to 9 in favor of the Dordognots, everything was restarted but, following two cards, Cahors found itself at fourteen then thirteen. Taking advantage of this numerical superiority, the locals scored a penalty try following a penalty. Although numerically inferior, the Cadurcians finished stronger and once again settled near the Belves goal line without managing to score. Aboumejd Le Berre’s penalty scored in the 80th minute gave Lotois the defensive bonus point. A small consolation for “Ciel et Blanc” who did not know how to convert their many highlights on the scoreboard.
