The Cougars started the season flat-out, taking advantage of certain absences among the Missiles. By winning the first two matches of the championship, the Greens had secured the first cup of the season at the Center Commercial Marcel-Dagort Super U, even if the Missiles had won the 3rd match.

Since then, the Blues and Whites have found more efficiency and have been able to reduce penalizing faults. Until winning the last match of the year 2024 on December 20 and thus equalizing one match each in the 2nd cup of the season (SPM Télécom).

This first meeting of the year 2025 was preceded by a minute of silence in memory of Alain Largerie, founding member and volunteer of the Cougars, who died at the end of the year.

Remaining in their end-of-year momentum, the Missiles were the first to open the scoring in the first 30 seconds of the match by Stéphane Siegfriedt in an almost full rink.

Stung, the Cougars multiplied the shots: around ten on target without however succeeding in deceiving the opposing goalkeeper. A very contested and committed first third which even saw two players hit the referee, who was forced to limp off the ice. And a small one-goal lead for the Missiles at the break.

We will have to wait almost 8 minutes of play in the second period to see a new goal, to the credit of Jonathan Lessard of the Missiles who take a break for only a few minutes. Because in the 10th minute, ex-international Valentin Claireaux (Cougars) escapes alone to win his face-to-face with the blue and white goalkeeper and reduce the gap: 2 goals to 1 at the end of the 2nd minute. period.

The 3rd will be electric: the Cougars equalize through Théo Detcheverry, then go in front thanks to Dylan Artano.

Stéphane Siegfriedt doubles his score and allows the Missiles to equalize in turn. Valentin Claireaux will serve Lucas Haran whose shot ricochets off the opposing post. A missed opportunity for the Cougars…who let the Missiles go back in front with a new goal from Jonathan Lessard 7 minutes from the end: 4 goals to 3. Then widen the gap with a 5th goal from Eric Fouchard.

The Cougars will maintain the suspense until the end by coming back thanks to Valentin Claireaux and failing by a stone’s throw. Final score: 5-4 for the Missiles who therefore win the second cup of the season in a championship which promises to be contested.
