Bad week for Arsenal.
Dominated and outnumbered, this Sunday at the Emirates Stadium, Manchester United still took Arsenal to penalties, before emerging victorious thanks to a miss from Kai Havertz (1-1, 3-5 TAB). MU will be there for the 16es final of the FA Cup, unlike Arteta’s team, already on the verge of elimination in the League Cup after its defeat in the semi-final first leg, Wednesday against Newcastle, again at home (0-2).
These are the Red Devils who scored first, in the second half, on a counter led by Alejandro Garnacho and brilliantly concluded by Bruno Fernandes (52e). Only, less than ten minutes later, Diogo Dalot acted like an idiot and left his partners after a second toast (61e), then Gabriel punished the visitors in the process, with a nice recovery (63e). Replacing Andre Onana in the Premier League but starting in the cups, Altay Bayındır subsequently shone, notably repelling a penalty from Martin Ødegaard (72e). And the Londoners have never managed to break the lock.
But no one has seen all this, since the Cup has… no broadcaster in France at the moment.
