Two pillars could leave Bayern Munich for free in 2025. A critical situation for the Bavarian club.
The Bayern Munichunder the leadership of Vincent Kompany, currently dominates the Bundesliga. With a renewed style of play, the team shows clear ambition for the rest of the season. However, behind the scenes, uncertainties linked to the transfer window could disrupt this dynamic.
Sané and Kimmich’s pending contracts
Leroy Sane et Joshua Kimmichtwo executives of the Bavarian workforce, see their contracts expire on June 30, 2025. If no extension is concluded quickly, these players will have the opportunity to sign for free with other clubs from July 2025.
According to The Nationalthe two stars have already agreed to join the FC Barcelona. A decision which, if confirmed, would constitute a huge shortfall for Bayern, estimated at around 95 million euros in combined value.
An agreement with Hansi Flick?
The rumor also mentions exchanges between Sané, Kimmich and the Barça coach, Hansi Flick. The latter, former Bayern coach, would have played a decisive role in the seduction process. The simultaneous departure of these two pillars would considerably weaken Kompany’s squad, both sportingly and financially.
Arrived at Bayern in 2020 from Manchester City, Leroy Sané cost around 49 million euros. Despite sometimes inconsistent performances, his talent and his status as an explosive winger justify this investment.
Joshua Kimmich is a model of success for Bayern. Recruited in 2015 for only 8.5 million euros with Stuttgart, he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. Its versatility and leadership make it a key piece that is difficult to replace.
The potential departure of Sané and Kimmich without transfer compensation would be a hard blow for Bayern. In addition to losing two world-class players, the club would see its economic strategy undermined.
