Feller takes the lead, Christmas not so far away: the summary of the first round

The FIS and the organization did well to reverse the program. Totally white day, snow, it would have been almost impossible to place a giant this Saturday. The slalom racers were therefore treated to difficult conditions in Adelboden. The gaps are narrower in the top 6. Manuel Feller, bib 3, took the lead in the event thanks to his high part above the rest. He is 25 hundredths ahead of Linus Strasser.

Clément Noël on the provisional podium

Clément Noël is in ambush. This time, no rapid exit from the track like at Madonna di Campiglio, the Vosges rider is ranked 3rd, 38 hundredths off the lead. The pace of the route did not necessarily suit him, he must have had difficulty setting up his ski. The two Norwegians Timon Haugan and Henrik Kristoffersen follow the Frenchman, half a second behind Feller. Lucas Pinheiro Braathe had a great round with number 19 and slotted into 5th place, between his former compatriots.

The famous final wall of Adelboden quickly caused damage. With a red bib on his shoulders for the first time, Loic Meillard got on as soon as he entered the slope, freezing the public. Same sanction for Atle Lie McGrath and the 3rd in Madonna’s slalom, Samuel Kolega. Interior fault for them.

Steven Amiez in the game

Steven Amiez is not that far from the provisional podium. The Savoyard had the misfortune of drawing bib 16 and set off on an already damaged track. A few small errors, less precise curves than some but the time is honest. 8th place, one second from the lead, it will be possible to come back, as he did on Wednesday at Madonna di Campiglio (4th in the end).

Paco Rassat does not repeat his Madonna feat. The skiers from Les Aillons made an inside mistake at the top of the route and gave up. Victor Muffat-Jeandet also qualifies, Avalin is on the good side with his 28th place. Hugo Desgrippes had the ski but not the bib, Cluse is 35th despite a good performance. Well off to a good start, Antoine Azzolin didn’t finish, nor did Léo Anguenot.

The 2nd round, designed by French coach Mathias Rolland, will take place at 1:30 p.m.
