Formula 1 is not only a demanding sport but also lucrative, notably thanks to the bonuses paid for performances. In 2024, these bonuses have reached new heights, according to Forbes and relayed by F1Only. McLaren’s Lando Norris tops this ranking with an impressive $23 million bonus on top of his $12 million salary. This amount rewards his superb season, marked by a second place in the drivers’ championship after an intense duel against Max Verstappen.
His teammate Oscar Piastri follows with $17 million, proof of McLaren’s collective success. Max Verstappen, despite a difficult end to the season due to a less competitive car, completes the podium with a $15 million bonus. Behind them, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Carlos Sainz have bonuses of 12 and 9 million respectively. George Russell (Mercedes) occupies sixth place with 8 million. Sergio Perez, despite his ouster from Red Bull, is in seventh place with 7.5 million. Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly close this ranking, with respective bonuses of 3.5, 2 and 2 million dollars.
