Uruguayan Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, taken out on a stretcher on Wednesday evening after remaining inert for a moment on the pitch against Liverpool, returned home and “doing well”assured his trainer Ange Postecoglou on Friday.
Bentancur “was at the hospital to do all the check-ups to make sure everything was OK. He returned home and is doing well.”declared Postecoglou, quoted by his club, specifying that his player was following the concussion protocol in force and that he would not be traveling to Tamworth on Sunday, for the third round of the FA Cup.

“I think that for two weeks we will have to monitor that everything is going well, but fortunately it seems that it is only a concussion and nothing more serious”he added.
-On Wednesday, at the very start of the League Cup semi-final first leg, the 27-year-old threw himself at a corner to deflect the ball with his head but fell heavily to the ground. He remained inert for several seconds, face down on the ground.

The medical team remained around the Uruguayan for almost ten minutes before evacuating him on a stretcher.
Bentancur was already stretchered off during the first day of the English championship, in August at Leicester (1-1), after being injured in an aerial duel. He missed the next game before returning.
