Tony DeAngeloa talented but controversial hockey player, has found a new chapter in his career by joining the KHL this season.
Known for his offensive prowess as a defenseman, DeAngelo’s NHL career was marked by both outstanding performances and controversies. His fiery personality and outspokenness often drew as much attention as his on-ice abilities, leading to conflicts with teammates and management during his stints with teams such as the Rangers, Hurricanes and the Flyers.
DeAngelo chose to continue his career abroad, where he now plays in the KHL with SKA St. Petersburg, theIvan Demidov.
He and Demidov make rain or shine with the SKA. If the Canadian’s hopes are on fire lately, DeAngelo is also having an impressive season with 32 points in 31 games. That’s good for 2nd in the entire league in points among defensemen.
The former Rangers and Hurricanes man has a front row seat every night to watch Demidov play and he has certainly become one of his biggest fans.
Very recently he responded to a user of the X platform (formerly Twitter) who said that all the teams who did not choose Zeev Buium will regret it, apart from the Sharks (Celebrini).
A brief but clear message: ”Has this guy ever seen Demidov play?”
He then goes on to respond to someone who asked if Demidov should play center.
”I would leave him on the wing”
In the center to the wing. As long as he can spread his wings and become the player we see him in the NHL!
