Chelsea stumbled again in the Premier League this Saturday, conceding a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace. The Blues have not won since December 15, a series which is increasingly worrying, especially as Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson is going through a difficult period.

Although he scored 9 goals and offered 3 assists at the start of the season, Jackson has struggled since the end of December, with four games without scoring. Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca was keen to defend his striker after this new disappointing performance.

According to the Blues coach, although Jackson did not find the net, he had two or three clear chances during the match against Crystal Palace.

“For an attacker, sometimes he creates all his chances and has them but he doesn’t score. The important thing is that Nico had two or three clear chances today. This therefore means that he is there, present. He’s ready and I hope next time he’ll have a little better luck. Overall, I think Jackson had a good game,” Enzo Maresca said after the game.

However, the Senegalese player’s recent performances do not completely reassure supporters, who are expecting more concrete results for Chelsea.
