The 27-year-old Russian was placed on the team’s injured list Wednesday after suffering an injury during a game during the holiday break. He will not be on the team’s two-game trip to Washington and Carolina.

Kaprizov leads the Wild with 50 points in 34 games since the start of the campaign. That’s 18 points more than the team’s second-highest scorer Marco Rossi.

The forward also ranks second in the entire National Hockey League (NHL) with 23 goals, tied with Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning and William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Furthermore, he scored no less than 56 goals during the 2024 calendar, a high within the Bettman circuit tied with Sam Reinhart of the Florida Panthers.

The Wild are not left out as they also saw their number one defenseman and captain Jared Spurgeon fall in action on Tuesday. The latter suffered an unsightly trip in the leg from Quebecer Zachary L’Heureux and then fell heavily on the ramp.

This action earned the 21-year-old Nashville Predators a three-game suspension.
