“The main culprits for Nico’s departure”

“It’s complicated because the results lead to Nico’s departure,” he first replied, before adding: “We feel like we are the first to blame because it is the players who are on the field. It's unfortunate for Nico, especially given what he represents here. »

Nicolas Seube spent 23 seasons at Stade Malherbe Caen as a player, then trainer and coach. In November 2023, to replace the sacked Jean-Marc Furlan, the club management called on him to coach the first team. A little over a year later, it was his turn to suffer the same fate.

A departure that touches him

Alexandre Mendy has made no secret of the fact that this decision particularly affects him:

It affects me, I really like Nico. Her daughter is in mine's class. He was always honest.

As the professional that he is, Alexandre Mendy now wants to look to the future and achieve good results as quickly as possible. Regarding the first four days of work with the new coach, Bruno Baltazar, he said he enjoyed the first sessions.

“It’s good, it’s dynamic. He is quite close to his players, he has his reference players in the locker room (including him). He told us that those who want to follow him in his game project are welcome, or that otherwise, we will have to find a solution to leave. Nico had the same philosophy. »
