TRANSFERS – SITE Last summer, Anderlecht let several players leave. For them too, the season is halfway over. It’s time to take stock. We start today with the core RSCA Futures players who have tried a new adventure elsewhere.
Alonzo Engwanda (21, Utrecht)
Engwanda (photo) performed excellently during preparation and started the season as a starter. He immediately made a strong impression, but at the end of September he injured his knee. In mid-December he made his reappearance and in the last match before the winter break he was again lined up in the 11. Engwanda’s good performances did not escape Transfermarkt. The midfielder has a market value of 2.5 million euros since December, compared to 0.4 million euros during his (free) transfer last summer.
Mohamed Bouchouari (24, Rodez)
For Bouchouari, his departure from the RSCA Futures was also a success. In Rodez, central defender in French Ligue 2, he immediately secured a starting place. With four goals and four assists in 15 matches, Bouchouari can also present very good statistics. He also scored three goals from direct free kicks. At the beginning of December, the local newspaper La Dépêche described him as one of Rodez’s best players this season.
Antoine Colassin (23, Beerschot)
Colassin is a third player who immediately found his way at his new club. Beerschot wanted to give him the necessary adaptation time, but due to injuries Colassin arrived in the team earlier than expected. And he did not disappoint. With two goals and three assists in the league and two goals in the Belgian Cup, he is one of the strengths of the Rats, who currently occupy last place in the standings.
Loïc Masscho (23, Sporting Hasselt)
Masscho saw his contract with Anderlecht not renewed during the summer and only found a new club at the end of October. A few days later, Masscho was immediately included in the squad, but in his second match he suffered a muscle injury. He returned at the end of November, three weeks later. It is still too early to judge, but it seems that the full-back is considered a basic pawn for the ambitious Hasselt.
Rik Vercauteren (23, Lommel)
Like the aforementioned trio, Vercauteren had no place in the Anderlecht U23s because he was too old. The young goalkeeper found refuge in Lommel, but he is only third goalkeeper there. He played a cup match in September (0-1 defeat against Belisia) and made three appearances with the U23s in the third amateur division.
Florian Nicaise (19 years old, La Louvière)
With the Futures, Nicaise was on the bench five times in 1B last season, but did not play. At La Louvière, he joined the U21 team, hoping to progress to the first team. This has not yet been able to come true
Luca Monticelli (19 years old, Hellas Verona)
Monticelli plays in Italy with the U20s and started the season as a substitute. But in recent weeks, he has always been a starter. The striker scored one goal and provided two assists.
Tudor Mendel-Idowu (19 ans, Ipswich Town)
Mendel-Idowu returned to England after a year and found refuge with Ipswich’s U21 team. Although he does not appear on the club’s official website in the list of players, he has appeared regularly in recent months. He has already been involved in the achievement of several goals.
