In this Saturday’s supplement, Grand reportage week-end takes you to Nigeria into the imaginary and creative world of superheroes, in different fields (cinema, comics, etc.). In the second part, we go to the Central African Republic where young people are developing a great interest in new technologies, particularly robotics and artificial intelligence. (Rebroadcast from 09/21/2024)
Superhero made in Nigeria
Change the imagination by relying on African superheroes, evolving especially in Africa. This is the path chosen in Nigeria for around fifteen years by several dozen creative studios. For a long time, this bet was considered crazy in a world dominated by the universes of American Marvels and Japanese manga characters. Riding in particular on the boom in mobile phones, authors of BDdevelopers of video games and cartoon illustrators brought continental and typical characters to life.
From 100% African stories, these creatives have quietly forged a cultural industry with solid foundations. So much so that American and European platforms are now signing contracts with this Lagos avant-garde.
A major report from Moïse Gomis who talks with Jacques Allix.
Robotics, a profession of the future for a developed Central African Republic
At a time when the world is noting permanent scientific advances, more and more young Central African inventors are clinging as best they can to this era of transformation driven by new technologies et artificial intelligence. They are convinced that their impacts on knowledge, learning, employment, medicine, science, and the relationships between men and machines are essential. The FATIMA martyrs center, created five years ago, has been organizing technology camps in recent years to train and initiate the young people.
A great report by Rolf Steve Domia-Leu qhe talks with Jacques Allix.
