The “Les Damels” football club of Tivaouane, playing in national 1, is launching a vibrant appeal to businesses and industries in its department to obtain their financial support. Indeed, the club's vice-president, Mansour Mané, underlined the difficulty the team experiences in managing fixed costs, particularly for travel across the country.
During a press conference, Mansour Mané expressed the need for support from patrons in order to meet the club's numerous expenses, which include maintaining players and ensuring the smooth running of competitions. “We have written to several local industries to ask for support that could help develop the team. Only a minority responded to our repeated requests,” he declared.
Mansour Mané has not hidden his intention to relaunch efforts with potential benefactors to guarantee the sporting future of the club. “Les Damels” currently occupy third place in the provisional ranking with a total of 35 points after the 15th day of Group C.
This Sunday, December 22, the Tivaouane team is preparing to meet Zénith de Kaolack, which is in ninth position out of twelve, with 16 points. This meeting could be decisive in strengthening the position of the “Damels” in the national championship 1.
This call for help, relayed by the APS, highlights the financial challenges facing many local sports teams. The 'Damels' hope that their appeal will be heard and that they will receive the necessary help to continue their promising run in the championship.
