The 15th day of the Ligue 1 championship ended yesterday evening with PSG's victory over OL (3-1). It was ASSE which got the ball rolling with a defeat on Friday in Toulouse. A look back at all the results of this 15th day of Ligue 1, which were necessarily unfavorable for ASSE.
Toulouse-ASSE : 2-1 : Toulouse snatched a victory against Saint-Étienne (2-1). After a lackluster first period, the Greens took the lead thanks to Stassin (53'), before Babicka equalized almost immediately (55'). The Toulouse team, more enterprising in the second half, finally found the fault through Aboukhlal (85'), validated after a VAR check for a borderline offside. Toulouse is getting closer to European places, while Saint-Étienne, despite progress abroad, remains in great difficulty and will spend the holidays in a barrier position. The realism of the Violets made the difference in this contested meeting.
ASSE touches the Grail and collapses!
Marseille-Lille : 1-1 : Olympique de Marseille, seeking to bring PSG closer to the top of the standings, was held in check by Lille (1-1). The Vélodrome vibrated thanks to Quentin Merlin's opening score in the 28th minute, on a rare Marseille incursion into the opposing area. Lille, dominating, finally equalized in added time (87th) by Bafodé Diakité, on a free kick perfectly executed by Rémy Cabella. Marseille, despite clear possession of the ball (60.6%), often struggled to realize their opportunities, particularly with an imperial Geronimo Rulli in the cages. Lille, more incisive, managed to do well despite several decisive interventions from the Argentine goalkeeper.
Auxerre-Lens : 2-2 : Lens was hung up on Auxerre (2-2). The Lensois led twice thanks to Nzola and Osho, but Auxerre, solid at home, responded with Perrin and El Aynaoui. Despite a clear domination (62% possession, 16 shots), the Sang et Or lack efficiency and remain 6th, missing the opportunity to enter the top 5. Auxerre, 8th, confirms its solidity at home with 5 victories, 2 draws and only one defeat.
Reims-Monaco: 0-0: AS Monaco and Stade de Reims part with a goalless draw (0-0) after a match lacking in clear chances. The Monegasques, dominating with 65% possession, lacked sharpness in the last gesture, despite attempts from Minamino and Ben Seghir. Reims, well grouped in defense, also missed several opportunities, notably by Nakamura and Diakité. The cross saved Monaco in the second half. With this result, Monaco remains in contact with the leaders, while Reims stagnates in 10th place.
Montpellier-Nice : 2-2 : Montpellier and Nice part with a 2-2 draw. The Aiglons opened the scoring through Laborde before a quick response from Chotard for the locals. Bouanani restored Nice's lead with a superb shot in the first half. At the end of the match, Théo Sainte-Luce equalized for Montpellier after a counter perfectly led by Al-Tamari. Both teams had opportunities to win, particularly at the end of the match, but neither Lecomte nor Bulka gave in. This result keeps Nice in 6th place and leaves Montpellier in difficulty, last in Ligue 1.
ASSE saved by Rennes, Brest and Strasbourg!
Rennes-Angers: 2-0: Rennes won against Angers (2-0) in a duel for maintenance. After a timid first period, the Bretons took the lead thanks to Albert Gronbaek, an inspired substitute, who scored with a header in the 33rd minute from a cross from Assignon. Angers, more combative in the second half, lacked offensive realism. In added time, Lorenz Assignon took advantage of a defensive error to seal the victory with a deflected shot. This victory allows Rennes to breathe in the standings, while Angers remains in difficulty before returning to the Coupe de France.
Le Havre-Strasbourg: 0-3: Strasbourg won 3-0 against Le Havre at the Stade Océane, securing their first away victory this season in Ligue 1. Habib Diarra opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a powerful half-volley and Nanasi followed suit 4 minutes later, before Andrey Santos, Alsatian top scorer with six goals, sealed the victory at the end of the match (90e) on a mix-up in the Le Havre area. Despite territorial domination and numerous attempts, Le Havre came up against a well-organized Strasbourg defense and effective collective pressing. Le Havre, now 17th, were booed by their audience. Strasbourg, realistic, breathes with four points ahead of the red zone.
Brest-Nantes: 4-1: Brest dominated Nantes 4-1 in a match marked by a clear superiority for the Finistériens, especially in the first half. Kamory Doumbia opened the scoring (24'), followed by a header from Chardonnet (27'). Nantes reduced the gap thanks to Douglas Augusto (48'), but Brest regained control at the end of the match. Abdallah Dipo Sima scored twice (88', 90'+3) to seal the victory. Despite better intensity after the break, the Nantes residents were too imprecise against a well-organized Brest defense and a vigilant Coudert. Brest concludes a perfect week and consolidates its position in Ligue 1.
PSG-Lyon: 3-1: PSG dominated OL 3-1. After a fiery start, Paris took the advantage thanks to Dembélé, served by Doué (1-0, 8th), then Vitinha transformed a penalty caused by Tolisso (2-0, 14th). Lyon reacted before the break, Mikautadze reducing the gap on a pass from Cherki (2-1, 40th). In the second half, despite offensive changes from Pierre Sage, OL never managed to achieve anything. In the 88th minute, Ramos sealed the victory after a deflected Barcola strike (3-1). Paris takes a seven-point lead at the top of the ranking.
