The second day of the Champions Cup ended this Sunday evening and the French clubs are mostly celebrating.
Stade Toulousain concluded this second day with a magnificent victory against Exeter. The Rouge et Noir are therefore back at the head of group 1, just ahead of Union Bordeaux-Bègles (by points difference). Both teams are in great shape and have 10 points each after two days. Other good news, La Rochelle and Toulon have also won twice in two matches and are therefore leaders of their group, ahead of Leinster and Glasgow respectively.
After its defeat against Leinster, Clermont is now in 3rd place in pool 2 while Castres, who won against Munster, is fourth in pool 3. Largely beaten by Sale, Racing 92 is 5th in group 4, while Stade Français is the only French club to have lost its first two matches. The Parisians are dead last in group 3.
