The Bon-Encontre team traveled with the clear intention of achieving an exploit in Ménoni. This ambition was evident from the first minutes, the visitors investing the Vicquois camp and obtaining a penalty quickly converted by full-back Langlade, impeccable throughout the match. The two teams neutralize each other, offering little space to the attackers, with the exception of a nice breakthrough from Florian Manaulton in the 6th minute. This first act is akin to a scorers’ duel: Loïc Salettis responds blow for blow to Langlade, even putting the “blue and white” in the lead after a good penetrating group which allows them to obtain a new penalty. However, a local error is costly: a dropped ball puts the Vicquois in difficulty, leading to a yellow card for Estéban Baldès. Langlade, always precise, took the opportunity to score his fourth penalty. The game comes alive at the end of the first half. Gabriel Bézecourt finds a gap and serves Louka Moefana, whose irresistible rush ends with a try behind the line. The second period gets off to a flying start for the Vicquois. After a scrum in the opposing 22 meters, a small low kick is perfectly taken by Louis Lascorz, who goes to score a try between the posts. Langlade, always precise against the poles, keeps his team in the race. The dominance of Bon-Encontre’s forwards is increasingly felt. Their penetrating groups put the locals to the test, forcing them to concede several faults. Four minutes from the end, the visitors returned to the defensive bonus (26-21) and redoubled their efforts to try to snatch victory. In stoppage time, the last penalty in favor of Bon-Encontre represents a last chance. But the local team managed to capture the ball, definitively sealing the Vicquois victory.
