Undefeated in its den since March, the Magic finally fell at the KIA Center, the fault of the Knicks of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. Without its leaders in uniform, the step was simply too high for Orlando.

We once thought that the Magic was going to win another match in the mud and on courage. It must be said that this team does not seem capable of sinking, even with its two best players on the sidelines for several weeks. But facing a Knicks team with much more talent (available), it would have taken a new masterclass to win. Mo Wagner could have been the hero of this evening, the German delivered what is undoubtedly one of, if not the best game of his career with 32 points coming off the bench!
But weighed down by his skill from afar, and not helped by a tense and clumsy Jalen Suggs, Orlando cracked in the final straight facing the onslaughts of Jalen Brunson (31 points) and a Karl-Anthony Towns in gluttonous mode (22 points, 22 rebounds!).
This is the Magic’s first loss this season at home, they were the last team to remain unbeaten this season. To be even more precise, we have to go back to the end of March 2024 to find any trace of an Orlando defeat on its home field. It was Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers who came to dictate their law in Florida. Nine months later, the KIA Center was (finally) won back by another franchise.
