Next year, the BtoB Splash Paris show, an event for professionals focused on luxury “resortwear”, is exported to Sydney. Come to Walsh Bay Arts Precinct on May 12 and 13 to discover the Australian version of the Parisian show launched in the summer of 2016 by Alex Lyles and Claire Spencer-Churchill.
This new show called Splash Sydney is managed by the teams from Splash Paris, the Elevate Wholesale Agency and supported by the Australian government organization Create NSW. Obviously, it will be held in the emblematic port of the metropolis and during Australian Fashion Week (from May 12 to 16, 2025), a way of consolidating Australia’s place in the international fashion calendar.
A “must-see” fashion show for professionals in Australia
Splash Sydney presents itself as a “must-see” show for professionals in the fashion sector in Australia and “will be of the same scale as the Splash Paris shows which take place twice a year”, underlines Jenny Nakkan, the founder of Elevate Wholesale Agency which has been working on this project for more than six months.
“Given the continued demand and interest from Australian designers, Sydney is the ideal location for this exciting new chapter for Splash,” explains Claire Spencer-Churchill, co-founder of Splash Paris. At the June 2024 edition of the show at Carreau du Temple in Paris, more than 70 Australian brands were present, a figure “highlighting the undeniable demand for an event of this caliber in Australia”.
“This event aims to cultivate a vibrant community that fosters long-term partnerships and brings tangible growth to our industry,” says Jenny Nakkan. “We are confident that Splash Sydney will be a transformational moment for brands and buyers, and will set a new benchmark for the Australian fashion industry.”
So next May, 75 Australian and international brands are expected to present their “full summer” and “resort” collections for women, men, as well as accessories and lifestyle. “We expect swimwear and resort wear to be among the fastest growing global categories next year, and their influence is set to expand even further,” says Jenny Nakkan.
In Australia, France and around the world, the “resortwear“, this chic and casual resort wear, is gaining more and more ground in the swimsuit industry.
