Jonathan Fauchon: first take of the Océanic

At the opening of the holiday trading period, the Océanic will confirm the acquisition of the current top scorer in the QMJHL, Jonathan Fauchon, from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

The general manager, Danny Dupont, will certify the arrival of the 20-year-old veteran attacker in exchange for draft picks and a player whose rights will be transferred during the next draft, next June, in Quebec.

Several sources from both teams confirmed the transaction a few days ago to Soir.ca.

This will be the first of many announcements to come from Océanic.

Several important players from the QMJHL will be added to his roster now and upon the return of the World Junior Championship, on offense, on the blue line and in front of the net.

Best scorer in Armada history

In his fifth season in the Courteau circuit, all spent with the Armada, Fauchon has already amassed 50 points, including 25 goals, in 31 games to date.

Holding several individual records with Blainville-Boisbriand, including that of the best scorer in the history of the franchise, he should easily surpass his best total recorded last year, with 71 points (30-41).

Blainville-Boisbriand’s first round pick in 2020, Jonathan Fauchon will participate in the Memorial Cup to complete his junior career.

Originally from Lévis, he has already participated in the development camp of the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL in 2023.

The arrival of Fauchon sounds the death knell for Samuel St-Hilaire in front of the net, while the number 1 position goes to William Lacelle, who will count on a new assistant.
