Finally a first goal for Lane Hutson!

Fans of the Montreal Canadiens have been waiting for a very long time: Lane Hutson finally scored his first career goal in the National Hockey League.

It’s 30e match of the season, his 32e in his career in the Bettman circuit, that the young defender hit the target. He beat goaltender Connor Hellebuyck with a very good wrist shot in the first period of the game against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

“It’s nice to finally have one. It’s one less thing to worry about,” he said in an interview after the first period with Renaud Lavoie, who also gave him the puck for his first goal.

The reaction of the players on the bench and especially that of Martin St-Louis, visibly relieved for his protégé, certainly warmed Hutson’s heart.
