Under magnificent sunshine, Hütter beat the Italian Sofia Goggia (+ 0”16) and the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami (+ 0”34). However, Goggia was making his comeback after a serious injury to his right leg (double tibia-malleolus fracture) which occurred during training in February, followed by a complicated convalescence. This is the first podium of the winter for Gut-Behrami, in difficulty in the giant at Sölden then Killington. The very promising American Lauren Macuga, only 22 years old, took 4th place with bib 27 (+0”52).
