Despite criticism since his arrival at Chelsea, Nicolas Jackson remains determined. In the show Big Interviewthe Senegalese striker explains that these challenges motivate him to give the best of himself and to always aim higher.

Arriving at Stamford Bridge in June 2023, Nicolas Jackson has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League. However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing for the 23-year-old Senegalese international. Recruited by Chelsea for £32 million after a short run of good form at Villarreal, he initially sparked doubts and criticism due to his missed opportunities in the 2023-24 season.

Despite these criticisms, he was able to bounce back. Today, he is considered one of the best strikers in the English championship. His spectacular progress can be partly explained by his attitude towards criticism, as he revealed in an interview with The Big Interviewa Premier League broadcast. “I love hearing people say negative things about me! Criticize me on the pitch, it’s good… it helps me, I love it, you know,” he said. For Jackson, these negative comments became a driving force. They push him to surpass himself and to continually progress. Far from resting on his laurels, the former Casa Sports player is aware that there is still a way to go to achieve his goals: “ I haven’t succeeded here yet. For me, success means scoring every week, scoring between 20 and 30 goals per season or even winning trophies”.
