OFFICIAL: Cercle de Bruges has its new coach

Last week, Cercle de Bruges parted ways with Miron Muslic. An unsurprising decision given the disappointing results this season and the growing tension between the Austrian coach and management.

However, the Bruges club did not take long to find a new coach. This Wednesday, Cercle announced the signing of Ferdinand Feldhofer. He signed a contract until the end of the season. An option for next season has also been included.

Feldhofer, 45, arrives from Dinamo Tbillisi, the club with which he finished 7th in the Georgian championship this year. But it was above all with Wolfsberger AC that the Austrian coach made a strong impression. In 2020, he managed to reach the round of 16 of the Europa League with the Austrian club. Note that he was also coach of SV Lafnitz and Rapid Vienna.

As a player, he played for Rapid Vienna and Sturm Graz. He was also an Austrian international 13 times.

“Added value for the Circle”

“We are convinced that Ferdinand will be an added value for the Cercle,” rejoices technical director Rembert Vromant. “He has a strong personality, works hard and also fits fully into our playing philosophy. Ferdinand is eager to take on this new challenge.”
