Geoff Molson is in Palm Beach, Florida for the NHL Governors’ Meeting.

It was a good opportunity to ask him what he thinks of the start of his club’s season… And let’s say that Mr. Molson remained quite modest in his comments.

The objective is to follow the reconstruction plan and that will not change even if the CH has had difficulty since the start of the campaign:

I like his comments.

This proves one thing: there is no panic at the moment within the organization. It would be easy to advise Kent Hughes to move in order to improve his club and also advance the rebuilding process, but that would be illogical.

Again, you have to follow the plan.

That said, there was another sentence that came out of Mr. Molson’s mouth that made me react.

This is when the owner of the CH says that he is encouraged by the performance of his team in recent weeks.

Priyanta Emrith reported her comments on Twitter:

The Canadian has won four of his last nine matches, but it’s not just the result that is important.

For two and a half weeks, CH has been able to get points because it plays the right way most of the time.

There is a level of effort 100 times better compared to the start of the season, the guys understand their respective roles… And ultimately, we see that the players are starting to be more familiar with Martin St-Louis’ playing system.

It’s far from perfect and we’ll all agree on that.

But it is by continuing to play in this way that the team will move forward and that is what is important in the end. It is therefore normal to see that Geoff Molson is satisfied with the performance of his club because it should improve thereafter.

At least, if we follow the logic of things, that’s what should happen.

In burst

– I like the style.

– Good point.

– Oh yes!
