Bundesliga. Bayern Munich’s turnover exceeded 1 billion euros last season

For the first time in its history, Bayern Munich achieved an overall turnover of more than one billion euros for the 2023/2024 financial year, its president Herbert Hainer announced on Sunday December 8 during the general meeting of the club.

The overall turnover of Bayern Munich, which also includes other entities including the club (FC Bayern Basketball GmbH), increased from 690 million for the 2021/22 financial year to 882 million euros for 2022/ 23.

A first in Bayern history

“And now we are not only reaching a new record, but also a new dimension, to which Bayern has never been before, underlined Herbert Hainer, boss of the club. This year we reach a total turnover of 1.017 billion euros,” he added. For the football club (FC Bayern München AG), the turnover amounted to 951.5 million euros, for an after-tax profit of 43.1 million euros, an increase compared to the financial year 2022/23 (35.7 million euros), but below the 2018/19 season (52.5 million euros), the last complete before the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Bavarian club also recorded an explosion in the number of its members. In February 2023, it had crossed the 300,000 member mark. Less than two years later, this figure reached 382,000 according to Herbert Hainer, who is aiming for 400,000 for the 125th anniversary of the club founded on February 27, 1900.
