FC Barcelona would like to recruit a defender known from the Premier League, who is also in Real Madrid’s plans.
Despite a rather weak summer transfer window, the FC Barcelona is off to a thunderous start to the season. The Blaugranas are currently leaders of the Spanish championship with 37 points. The arrival of Hansi Flick brought a breath of fresh air to the Barcelona team. But for the next season, the president of the club, Joan Laporta, wants to carry out a major reshuffle and strengthen the Blaugrana squad.
In several positions, the president as well as the coach think that there are shortcomings. Among these, the left winger position is a priority for the club. However, the defensive sector must be strengthened, particularly at the full-back positions. To replace Jules Koundé on the right flank, the club would have thought of the Manchester United defender, the Portuguese Diogo Dalot. However, the Red Devils right-back is also a target for Barça’s rival club, Real Madrid. A competition could therefore take place between these two historic rivals for one of the important pieces of Manchester United.
Plutôt FC Barcelona or Real Madrid?
At Manchester United since 2018, Diogo Dalot has established himself over the seasons as the club’s right back. With the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the 25-year-old Portuguese is now the club’s starting defender. This season, the native of Braga played 21 matches in all competitions with the Red Devils. With Ruben Amorim, his contribution will be even more important for the Mancunian team. With such performance, it is normal that big clubs like FC Barcelona or Real Madrid are interested in it.
Under contract until June 2028, a departure of the Portuguese is not in the plans of the Manchester club. But the two Spanish clubs seem to be inquiring about the 25-year-old defender if his desire is to leave England and the Premier League. Once again, a competition could take place between both teams for the recruitment of a player.
