The CH season is not going as planned. This is the case due to a few players not performing up to expectations. Among these is Juraj Slafkovsky.
The Slovakian had a better match yesterday, but clearly there is something blocking him this season. We can think that placing him with Patrik Laine, in the short term, will (help to) revive him.
The two Europeans are developing chemistry, in any case.
But because he is still young, Slaf has things to learn. And even if he has the big contract in his pocket (effective July 2025), we sometimes have to remind him that he doesn’t do things the right way on the ice.
And obviously, it happened on Monday, during the club’s day off.
After yesterday’s game, Slaf mentioned that he was “eaten crap” by someone in the organization. He says it woke him up and was a reminder he needed.
According to Anthony Marcotte, who presented the audio extract on the morning show on BPM Sports, we can think that it was either Kent Hughes or Jeff Gorton who told him his truths.
This is not the first time that we have felt frustration within the organization in recent days. After all, we know that Jeff Gorton was angry as ever after Saturday’s game against the Rangers.
Obviously, the weight of the defeats is starting to be heavy for CH and the club wants to get out of it. The leaders are fed up and the messages are passed to the players in question.
It’s the right thing to do.
It’s weird to see that Slaf said this publicly, but he’s never been afraid of his opinions and speaking out when he’s not performing up to par. So here is further proof on this subject.
